Passengers on board Jet Airways domestic flights can avail JetScreen, the airline's in-flight entertainment service directly on their mobile phones, tablets and laptops. JetScreen includes over 225 hours of video and audio content such as leading Hollywood and Indian movies, TV shorts, music from multiple genres, interactive games, as well as special children’s programmes.
Guests will also be able to experience a highly immersive 3D flight tracker, and access a wide range of destination-related information right at their fingertips.
A press release issued by Jet Airways states, "With an incredibly convenient, easy-to-operate, interactive user interface, JetScreen has been introduced on five Boeing 737 next-generation aircraft in the Jet Airways fleet that operate on key domestic and international routes. In the coming months, it will be rolled out in a phased manner on the entire Jet Airways Boeing 737 fleet."
Jet Airways' plans to eventually transform its in-flight entertainment experience into a fully-fledged, broadband-enabled Wi Fi connectivity (subject to regulatory approvals). The introduction of streaming is the first step in that direction. Once the full-fledged Wi-Fi service is implements, guests can surf the internet, check e-mail, stay connected on social media, get access to connecting flight information, real time travel services and destination deals.
"In order to access the onboard entertainment, guests will need to download the 'Airtime Player' application, available for free in all major App stores, on their Wi-Fi enabled personal devices. Once the application is successfully installed, guests must switch their devices to ‘Airplane Mode’ and select 'JetScreen' as their wireless network of choice. Once connected, launching the web browser enables access to the Inflight Entertainment Portal.", the release continued.

Vistara Airlines has announced an “Affordable Luxury” suite of offers, especially for discerning leisure travellers who plan and book early. The scheme encompasses Premium Economy and Business Class travel across Vistara’s entire network and offers as much as 60% discount on advance-purchase flights. A separate scheme for flights and holidays is also on offer.
The discounts available differ for weekdays and weekends and are dependent on the flight route, flight, date of purchase and date of travel.
Affordable Luxury Weekdays Scheme:
As per the “Affordable Luxury Weekdays” scheme launched, Vistara will offer up to 60% discount for Business Class and up to 40% for Premium Economy Class, relative to last minute fares, if booked 30 days or more in advance. The Affordable Luxury Suite follows close on the heels of another suite of Ancillary Products released by Vistara. The Ancillary Products suite, enhances a traveller's experience, with products and services such as e-Coupon Books and Class Upgrades. Vistara has received the Category III Bravo (CAT III-B) certification from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), permitting its CAT III-B compliant fleet and crew to operate with a Runway Visibility Range (RVR) of as low as 75 meters, the highest level of low-visibility rating awarded in India currently.
The certification will enable Vistara to safely operate flights even under low-visibility conditions due to fog or any other poor weather conditions, that parts of North India and North Easters states experience during peak winter.
According to a press release issued by the airline, "Vistara’s current fleet of 13 brand new A320s come with the integrated CAT IIIB auto land system, and its crew is given rigorous training to ensure the safety of its customers and providing a world class travel experience. Vistara has consistently maintained its high On-Time Performance (OTP) throughout the year."
The certification will aid Vistara to maintain its performance during the upcoming fog season.
Virgin Atlantic has announced significant changes to its baggage allowance. The changes include an inclusion of sports equipment to its overall Virgin Atlantic baggage allowance as well as an increase in the charges for extra bag (s) and /or bag (s) of excess weight.
For bookings made on or after 31 August 2016, sports baggage will be included in your overall checked baggage allowance. Virgin Atlantic passengers can now carry sports equipment (up to 23kg and 190 x 75 x 65cm) as part of their checked bag allowance. For any additional sports baggage (up to 23kg and 190 x 75 x 65cm), a surcharge of 65 GBP / 100 USD / 100 CAD will be levied. Oversize bags will attract oversize charges as well.
For bookings made before 31 August 2016, our previous sports equipment policy will still apply: allowing one extra piece of sports equipment in addition to your checked baggage allowance.

Cathay Pacific Airways and Dragonair have announced a revision to their baggage policy. The new policy offers passengers an increased check-in allowance and generally lower charges for excess or overweight baggage.
Under the revised weight system policy, all passengers, regardless of their class of travel, will enjoy an additional 10kg allowance for check-in baggage. Marco Polo Club Silver, Gold and Diamond members will benefit from an extra 10kg, 15kg and 20kg respectively.
In line with global industry standards, the zoning of excess baggage charges will also be adjusted. The new zone combinations will see an extensive reduction of charges of up to 40%.
To improve check-in efficiency and reduce queuing time at airports across the airlines' networks, the revised baggage policy will follow a weight system with piece count. Passengers in Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class will be entitled to check-in two baggage items free of charge. First Class passengers will be entitled to check-in three baggage items free of charge. Marco Polo Club Gold and Diamond members will be entitled to check-in one additional item on top of their travel class allowance.
Emirates Skywards, the frequent flyer programme of Emirates Airline, has announced a partnership with Dubai Duty Free to enhance the airport experience of its members. With the partnership in place, members of the Emirates Skywards program can redeem their Miles instantly at participating Dubai Duty Free stores at the Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International at Dubai South.
With Miles as a new payment method, members of Emirates Skywards program can enjoy buying their choice of products from the 35,000 + products at the Dubai Duty Free. Participating stores include international and luxury brands for fashion accessories, perfumes, electronics and more.

Emirates Airlines has announced changes to its Advance Seat Reservation Policy to help customers make a more personalised choice based on their travel needs. The change comes as part of the airline's plans to step away from a one-size-fits-all approach and enable customers to select the fare and associated benefits most appropriate to their profile and journey.
The New Advance Seat Reservation Policy includes a charge for advance seat selection on Economy class Special and Saver fares. However, no charges will be levied for seat selection at check-in, 48 hours prior to departure and for Economy class Flex, Economy class Flex Plus, Business and First class fares.
In addition, families travelling with an infant as well as groups booked under a single PNR will be exempted as well. Members of Emirates Skywards Gold, Platinum and IO (Invitation only) members will be able to select seats without charge for all the passengers in their PNR.
Free seat selection is also available for members of Emirates Skywards Silver Program; however, for them the complimentary service will be limited only to the Silver members and not to any of their co-passengers booked in their PNR.

Jet Airways has announced the introduction of an Additional Cabin Bag Charge to discourage passengers from carrying excessive cabin baggage.
Passengers on Jet Airways will be charged a surcharge of INR 900 (tax inclusive) at the boarding gate for any baggage additional to their baggage allowance, with immediate effect, irrespective of the booking date. Duty free bags will be exempted from additional cabin baggage charge.

Jet Airways has announced a series of measures including new connections and services in a bid to expand its network and enhance its services. In accord with its expansion plans, the airline has announce the launch of additional frequencies on its international network.
In the International Flight sector, additional services will commence on the Mumbai - Kathmandu, New Delhi - Kathmandu, Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai, Thiruvananthapuram to Doha, Kozhikode to Sharjah and Mumbai to Paris, with effect from October 30, 2016. Kozhikode will become the third Indian city to be connected by Jet Airways to Sharjah by a daily service.

IndiGo has announced its plans to launch 47 new flights on its existing route network in the month of October 2016. The airline's decision comes close on the heels of 30 new flights / frequencies across India in the month of September, which includes the addition of Port Blair as its 41st destination.
In a press release issued by IndiGo, Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo said “It gives me immense pleasure to announce our plans to further strengthen connectivity in India by offering more flights and increased frequencies to our growing customer base. With the continuously increasing presence and phenomenal customer uptake, we are hopeful that these flights will prove to be popular and convenient for our passengers, across our network.”
The airline has introduced almost 77 new flights and frequencies in this period. With the induction of five new Airbus A320 aircraft complementing the new additional services, the airline’s has achieved an increase in its per-day flight frequency. Once the new flights are launched in October, the flight frequencies will increase further to 883 flights daily.
"With maiden flights connecting Port Blair to Delhi and Kolkata effective September 28, 2016 and Hyderabad and Chennai effective September 30, 2016, IndiGo is all set to introduce its first daily return flights connecting Bengaluru to Patna, Varanasi and Imphal. Emirates has announced its plans to launch its first A380 service from Dubai to Christchurch, New Zealand. The new service will commence from October 30, 2016 and will fly between Dubai and New Zealand five times daily, with a single stop in Sydney, Australia.
With the launch of this service, Emirates Airline will become the first airline to offer regular scheduled A380 services to and from Christchurch. Until now, the airline was offering daily flights to Christchurch on a Boeing 777-300ERs, with a stop at Bangkok, Thailand. The stop at Bangkok, will be discontinued, with the launch of the A280 service.
The airline has also planned a simultaneous introduction of the A380 on Emirates’ daily non-stop route between Dubai and Auckland. Emirates currently also operates three other daily A380 services between Auckland and Dubai and beyond via Australia (Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane).

Air Canada has announced its plans to launch new flight services between India and Canada. The first of its new routes will be a seasonal, three-times weekly Vancouver-Delhi service which will commence w.e.f. October 20, 2016. The second route in the pipeline is a new three-times weekly service from Mumbai to Toronto. The non-stop flights will be operated year-round with effect from July 1, 2017 using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The two new routes will take up the number of Air Canada connections between Canada and India up to 3. The airline already operates a year-round daily Toronto-Delhi service.
Flights will be available for sale immediately with special introductory pricing and are timed to optimize connectivity at Air Canada's global hub at Toronto Pearson. All flights provide for Aeroplan accumulation and redemption and, for eligible customers, priority check-in, Maple Leaf Lounge access, priority boarding and other benefits.
