British Airways has announced its plans to replace the complimentary Food & Beverage Service on-board all its short haul and domestic flights to and from London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airports. The airlines will introduce a new Marks & Spencer a-la- carte menu to replace the complimentary service.
At the moment, this change is limited to the Euro-Traveller Cabin. This means that guests seated in the Euro-Traveller Cabin will have to purchase food provided by Marks and Spencer; there will no longer be complimentary food and drink available on these flights.
The new, seasonally inspired menu will feature M&S favourites including vegetarian, gluten free and healthy fresh options plus snacks and comfort foods. A selection of branded drinks supplied by airline supplier, Tourvest, will also be available for purchase on board.
No food item will cost over £5. Soft drinks will be priced £1.50 onwards and alcoholic drinks from £4.
Guests can pay for their purchases using credit or debit cards. Cash payments will not be accepted.
Executive Club Members can pay for food and drinks with Avios using the British Airways App. To pay via the App, Members must update their app or download the latest version prior to travel. Bronze, Silver and Gold members can also pay using their Executive Club card.
Club Europe customers will continue to be offered a full, complimentary menu.

The Ministry of External Affairs has announced plans to expand the outreach of its Passport Seva Project (PSP) services by collaborating with the network of Head Post Offices of each state. The Passport Seva Project is a Mission Mode Project of the Government of India undertaken to enable more applicants to obtain their passports.
At present, there are 89 Passport Seva Kendras (PSK) in operation with best-in-class amenities. These PSKs are operating across the country as extended arms of the 38 Passport Offices, thus providing extended reach to passport applicants. Several quantitative and qualitative improvements in the delivery of passport services in the country have been made during the last two and a half years.
New PSKs have been planned for Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Udaipur in Rajasthan, Siliguri in West Bengal and Sholapur in Maharashtra in the coming months. Additionally, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Department of Posts (DOP) have now agreed to enter into a collaboration to utilize the Head Post Offices (HPO) in various States as Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) for delivering passport related services to the citizens of our country.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, the pilot projects for this joint venture between MEA and DOP was inaugurated on 25 January, 2017 at the HPO at Mysuru in Karnataka and at Dahod in Gujarat.
"Appointments for passport applicants have been released for these two places beginning 25 January, 2017. Applicants, who apply for their passports online through the passport portal, can now schedule an appointment and then visit the designated POPSK to complete the formalities akin to those at the PSK necessary prior to the issue of the passport," the press release continued.
Once the pilot projects are successful, the programme will be scaled up with the opening of POPSK in all the HPO in a phased manner.
